Scabies Home Treatment
Scabies Home Treatment
Have you noticed your kid scratching all over his body for several days now? How about nightly attacks of itch or right after taking a shower or a bath? This may actually prompt you to check if your kid is suffering from scabies mites as scabies is a very common skin disease especially in children below ten years old.
Medications for scabies are available in any drugstore near you but since scabies is caused by scabies mites, ingredients of these topical creams include chemicals which resemble insecticides. And the sad part is that these can be absorbed by the skin and can be potentially harmful to our kid’s young skin. This is the reason why scabies home treatment is commonly implemented especially by concerned parents. Plus most of these cures are fast and effective and are done from the comfort of your own home.
Tea Tree and Neem Oil. Both these essential oils are effective in treating head lice ad scabies mites. Adding about twenty drops of tea tree oil or neem oil to a warm batch is proven to be effective in killing scabies mites. Apart from this method, you can also apply these oils directly to your skin with scabies rashes using damp cotton. Make sure you dispose the cotton properly to prevent spread of these mites.
Onion and Garlic Extract. Onions and garlic are not just used in adding spice to our dishes! They are also effective in treating scabies. These spices contain certain chemicals that help kill scabies mites. Slice onions and boil them in about a liter of water. Once the solution has cooled down, you may apply the liquid liberally to your skin. This is a proven effective scabies home treatment.
Bathing in water that has neem oil in it can be a great scabies home treatment!
The easiest way to go about doing this is to buy some soap with neem oil built in, run the bathtub and swish the soap around in the tub as well as under the running water this will mix the bathwater with the neem oil, then have your child (or yourself) bathe in the water for 45 minutes to an hour, this is a very effective scabies home treatment
Personal Hygiene. Scabies is very contagious and once a member contracts this disease, it is not impossible for othe
r people in the household to get infected, too. Scabies can spread through skin contact, sharing of personal things like towels, beddings, etc. Make sure you implement necessary precautions for this disease in your household to reinforce scabies home treatment.
Scabies is a very concerning disease, apart from its being very contagious—it is also very discomforting because of its persistent itchiness. Keep in mind that strengthening your immune system is very beneficial in the fight against scabies, a strong immune system is better at fighting and ridding the body of scabies faster then a weaker immune system. I personally take a multivitamin every day and sometimes probiotics.
